THROUGH WEEK 10
Peyton Manning – Indianapolis Colts
Registered a solid – if not spectacular – performance in a classic “trap” game at home vs. Buffalo. Consecutive NFC opponents in Dallas and Philadelphia will provide the latest difficult tests for Manning and the Colts.
TELLING STATISTIC: Manning’s average of 1 Sack every 32 pass attempts is testament to Manning’s ability to make quick decisions and deliver the football.
Marc Bulger - St. Louis Rams
Bulger was average on a day when the Rams needed him to be perfect in a 2-point loss @ Seattle.
TELLING STATISTIC: Bulger’s INT percentage of 0.6 is the lowest in the NFL among passers with at least 300 attempts.
Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints
Continued season-long tendency to stay away from the big mistake in a high-scoring loss (38-31) @ Pittsburgh.
TELLING STATISTIC: The Chargers 1-3 record in games in which Brees throws for 349 or more yards shows the Saints are at their best as a balanced Offensive team.
Philip Rivers - San Diego Chargers
Timely first down throws and good decision-making were Rivers’ highlights in an exciting shootout on the road @ Cincinnati.
TELLING STATISTIC: Rivers has thrown only 1 INT in the Chargers’ seven wins.
Carson Palmer - Cincinnati Bengals
Palmer played as well as an NFL Quarterback can in a tough home loss to the Chargers, completing 73% of his passes and throwing for 44 yards.
